I's new room has been our playroom for the past 6 years. And it has been well used. The walls were so scuffed up. For her birthday this year, we moved I. out of the girls room and she gets her own room. We picked out paint - Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams.
At nights, I painted. It is almost impossible to paint at night - hence all the blue tape dots on the wall. In the morning, I would mark the spots that needed me to go back over them. Then, Tom put up crown molding.
I love how this just finishes a room. I just assume the cost of molding in the price of paint as I am figuring out a budget for rooms. It is so worth it. It isn't Tom's favorite thing to do, but he does love the look of it, so he grumbles his way through it (just kidding, anyone that knows Tom knows he hardly grumbles).
And this is where we are today. New duvet, old chest of drawers that I am not painting (right now). I. has moved in and she loves it, but we aren't done - yet.
Still on our list:
- add drapes
- make a headboard with some fun fabric
- add shelves for her to put her "stuff"
- figure out what to put on the walls
- I kind of want to put gold polka dot decals on the ceiling
We'll get there. I am officially the slowest painter - this room took us 6 weeks to paint and put up the molding! The fabric samples are ordered. The pictures are "pinned." I guess this is just a mid-project check in.
