Come and eat with me! I aim to eat about 1375 calories/day, but because baby J. likes a 4am snack, I think I have a little more wiggle room. I try to be very aware of what I eat, but not freak out about going over. When I am actively trying to get to a certain weight, though, I track every calorie that enters in my mouth. So, here's a regular old day of what I eat:
Breakfast: The Fitnessista's Breakfast Cookie Cereal. I topped it with about 1/4 cup of homemade applesauce and 2T dried blueberries. 318 calories and super delicious
Mid Morning Snack: I split an apple dipped into honey roasted almond butter with M. I ate most of the apple, M. ate most of the almond butter. About 100 calories and about time to get some more almond butter.
Lunch: Whole Wheat Tortilla topped with spinach, broccoli slaw, cucumbers, one whole hard boiled egg and two whites, and 1/5 avocado. I top it with some red pepper flakes and yum-o! I stuff these so full they never wrap up. I estimated this to be about 285 calories.
Afternoon Snack that I forgot to take a picture of: a Coconut Chocolate Luna Bar and an orange. 260 calories.
Dinner: Cilantro Lime Chicken with Black Beans over brown rice. I added salsa and hummus to the top. I used myfitnesspal.com to calculate the calories - 394.
That totals up to 1357 for the day. Just under enough to not feel guilty for the sweedish fish that I am sure were popped in my mouth sometime during the day! I am not aiming for perfection here, just to make good decisions about what goes into my body. So, that is a typical day - what do you think?

This gave me some great ideas - I'm in a total rut. I'm eating about 1600 calories a day (which included 400 for nursing 5 times a day), but have plateaued and probably need to drop some of those breastfeeding calories to make that final push to my goal weight. I've been doing wraps for lunch and loving it, so I want to try your version, and totally going to try that cereal.
Everything looks so delicious! I'm totally going to try that cereal this week.
So good!!
Wow, thank you for the food ideas. Its great to see what others eat on a 1300 calorie intake.
