The bags were purchased at Hobby Lobby. After a little freezer paper stenciling action, they were labeled. There are so many tutorials on how to do this. Then I searched my trim bin and added some trim to the top.
Each sibling got a new shirt. I purchased these iron on decals off of etsy and just ironed on them quick. These shirts were awesome. When they were wearing their shirts at the hospital, they got so many comments. They went into the "snack room" with no questions. It made them feel very important.
I also added some activities that could keep them busy.
Items included: smelly markers, legos, bead jewelry, paper notebooks, etc.
It was so fun to give them!
I'd love to get to know you better. Could you please follow me on the left? On Facebook? On Pinterest? Awesome - can't wait!

Love this idea! I'm trying to figure out what to do for Thomas when the baby arrives - at just 2 it's not like he'll really remember, but I still want to commemorate the event. Thanks for this awesome idea!

We got a 3D ultrasound with my current pregnancy, and part of the package was a device with a recording of the baby's heartbeat on it. We're going to put it in a build-a-bear for my 3-year old, and give him the bear when he comes to visit us at the hospital.
I also think I'm going to fill his kit with things more baby related. To make sure he feels included, I'll fill it with what he'll need to help us with the baby (wipes he can hand me when we're changing diapers, a soft brush for Baby Brother's hair, etc.)-- things that will be his special job to do.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Great idea, I'm pregnant with my sixth baby so would have many bags to make! I'm going to start following your fantastic blog, you are welcome to check out mine.
Love this, so important to make the older kids feels special too, definately doing this when my next one comes! Thanks for the idea.
Love this! Can you please post the link where you got your iron-on letters/ decals?
Such a cute idea! Thanks so much for sharing!
I have mine all prepared. Now just waiting for baby to make a move! :) Great idea, thanks!
Found this idea on pinterest! Love it! Thanks for sharing!!
So sweet! I may make these for the kids of expectant friends/relatives. Wish I'd have seen this 2 wks ago when my newest grandson was born. :)
Can you share the Etsy store from which you got the iron on decals?
Thanks :)
Another way to include them is to take them to build-a-bear to make a special welcome to the world gift. I let my older kids build and outfit a bunny. That toy has been so special to all of them. They are already asking if they can go put one together for the next newbie due in February.
Thanks for the idea! I have a little girl a little jealous of her baby sister that is coming and I know this would help her a lot.
saw this on Pinterest and had to follow the link! What a fabulous idea! Pinning! :)
LOVE This - do you sell them or at least the cute bag and shirt???
