This recipe comes from Kristi and it is oh so yummy. We spent a morning washing fruit, boiling syrup, chopping, and making another friend's kitchen all sticky. So worth it.
Yes, we used a Christmas tablecloth to help keep the table a little less sticky.
Frozen Fruit
1 watermelon -balls
2 cantaloupes - chunks
1 honeydew melon - chunks
6 peaches - sliced
3 pounds of grapes - washed
blueberries - I can't remember how many we used, we each bought a Costco size. -washed
4 cups sugar
2 quarts water
1 can frozen lemonade concentrate
1 can frozen orange juice lemonade.
Boil the sugar and water. Add the concentrates. Fill each bag with fruit. Add the syrup. Squeeze out as much air as possible and freeze.
When serving, thaw slightly! Kristi likes this with a little 7-up on the top for a dessert.
Aren't they so pretty?
We tripled the recipe and we packed 30 quart size freezer bags. The hardest part will be waiting for the winter to pull these out.
I also spent a day with these:
2 boxes of peaches = 42 pints
My neighbor and I spent an entire Friday working on these together. It is so worth it to rope a friend into doing this with you.
I can in pints because my biggest pot won't accommodate quarts and I don't can enough to buy an official canning pot! Pints works great for our family, though. We finish one jar off per meal, and I like not having an open jar in the refrigerator.
I love doing things like this. I love pulling out a jar throughout the year. I'm really excited this year for our frozen fruit. My freezer is packed and I couldn't be happier! One of the best parts is that I worked with my friends. We get together and watch kids while we work. It is working together with other moms to be a success that really gets the job done!
And now, we can enjoy this fruit all winter long! yummy!

lovely. I love the feeling of full cupboards and freezers with food I preserved myself. I think all the sweat and hard work is sooo worth it. Great job!
You know, fruit may be my favorite part of summer. The cherries, cantaloupe, watermelon, peaches...yum!! You have been very busy! I'm jealous!!
Oh my goodness, you're a hard worked. I SO wish I had all those ziplocs on my kitchen counter. They look so refreshing and yummy...and CONVENIENT! You've motivated me to do some healthy planning for my kids. And all the canning is incredible too. We have TONS of peaches at our house so this idea is perfect.
Also, I have a giveaway on my blog right now that I would love for you to enter if you're interested and haven't already done so! =)
What a fabulous idea for keeping fruit. I will have to bookmark this idea for next summer. Moving is not conducive to food storage this year!
All that fruit looks so pretty and delicious!! Great job on getting all of that done!
Oh yummy!!! That looks beautiful!!
So how do you use this fruit? I've never heard of this and am going to try it. I read about the little bit of 7-Up but do you use it in any salad or anything? This is going to be fun to do!
Those canned peaches make my heart sing! So beautiful and yummy!

Wow that is a lot of fruit put by for the winter. what a great idea with the frozen fruit backs... must remember that one.
I have never thought about freezing fresh fruits...I do veggies at the beginning of the summer each year and my freezer is standing room only with the abundance of peas, corn, tomatos and etc...but never in my dreams would I have thought of doing grapes and melons. I have a bunch of blackberries and blueberries. So I shall get some more peaches this weekend and grapes and put them up with your recipe...oh thank you so much for sharing this....this is why i love blogging for the simple reason others help me prepare the goodness for my family.
No fair. You are making me hungry with all those yummy pictures of fresh fruit. Any way you could send some my way. J/K Great idea.
I'm new to your blog and just read this post. I've never canned but would love to. What do I need to get started, besides canning jars???
