They look beautiful! It's fun when you can have the kids make it their own too. We used to have the "longest root" contests. Whoever used the weed digger and got the most root out on the weeds got to pick the desert we had that night or a special family activity. My kids actually enjoyed weeding and the daycare kids and neighborhood kids all seemed to want to help too, lol! Sigh....I miss my kids being little.
It's great that you let your kids pick out the flowers! If you still want a little contrast, have them add a few white alyssum (sp?) seed in your box and top off with a little soil. In a few weeks they should be ready to bloom and they smell nice too.
Lovely! I'm really happy with my front beds, but wishing I'd picked different colors - it's such a mish-mash! Pink begonias, purple & white impatiens, yellow daylillys and hot pink petunias. Oh, and a purple/red/white hanging basket. At least its all blooming happily! I'll have to do a better job next year :)
I love the dress and the flowers. I've was wondering if you could come a week early for the family reunion and help us organize the pantry? I'm kidding of course, but I am definitely overwhelmed by the many organizing projects around here. I often wish you and your mad organizing skills were here to help.
My name is Laurel and I am a running, piano teaching, home making, mother of four! This blog is my attempt to show living a balanced life. I adore making pretty and practical meet, making little things special for my family, and keeping things "just so." I strive to be the girl that has all her "ducks in a row" - maybe someday.

I love them (I'm a monochromatic kind of girl) and I love that you let your kids pick the flowers! Can't wait for ours to overflow.
looks great! i'm having a problem with my larger flowers, they are all tipping towards the sun, which means they look ridiculous. what to do?
i am definitely going to buy some of those planters like yours at the end of the season.
