I'm linking up to Serenity Now's Dishing It party - what a fun way to meet new bloggers. I'm late, it's seems like that's normal this week.
How long have you been blogging? I started this blog a little over 2 years ago - it's ancient in bloggy years!
Why did you start blogging? At first, this blog was a way to communicate with my sister. After my sewing machine broke down, and we decided to go for a machine that sews and embroiders, I started doing a lot more sewing. We also have a new home, and I love working on it. My blog became a way to keep track of our progress and to receive inspiration.

Tell me about your blog's title. Why did you choose it? My blog is called "Ducks in a Row"- an idiom meaning "to organize things well." I love organizing, putting labels on, throwing things out, and usually share what I do on this blog. Here's a post that I wrote about this at the very beginning of my blog.
What do you blog about? Lots of things - I'm not sure you categorize me into one group. I share my organizing tips. I often will share things I have sewn. I love to decorate and work on my home and love to blog about that. Occasionally you'll get a yummy recipe or a freezer meal. We've been landscaping our backyard for three years, and I hope to have some progress there to blog about. Every Sunday, I write a Grateful Sunday post - it has changed my life.

What is your favorite thing about blogging? Hands down, the blogging community. I love the feedback. I love that there are other like-minded friends out there.
If you had to choose one famous person to become your blog's next devoted reader, who would you pick? Easy - Martha Stewart.

What's the funniest comment you've ever received on a blog post? Any comment from my sister - Arizona Lewis. Maybe it's just funny to me, though.
There you have it, a little about me. Now it's my turn to ask a question. What type of posts do you like to read here? Just wondering . .
PS - all images from various photographers on etsy.

from the start i've always loved your blog name... that's what drew me in! my favorite posts to read are definitly DIY projects. so many bloggers out there have inspired me to try things i never would have tried!
Your blog name is so cute. Also, way to go on the running. Wow, I'm impressed! If I had that widget on my blog, it would be a very sad sight. *sigh*
My crafty blog, http://LivelyStitches.blogspot.com, is an outgrowth of our family blog, http://HarperAcademy.blogspot.com, which has been in existence since 2004. (Wowie; that long!) My husband and I began the family blog as a way to journal about our family's daily life. We share our thoughts on scripture, happenings in our family, reports on books and field trips, etc. Lively Stitches was born out of that 2.5 yrs ago (although the original blog was hacked, and I started over again a few months ago).
Harper Academy is named for the learning journey that is our daily lives. We think it is about rearing and training our children; however, my husband and I have received some incredible life training of our own. :) Lively Stitches was an appropriate name for all of the stitching that goes on around here; my daughters and I sew, quilt, knit, and crochet.
I like blogging for the fact that it gives me entry to an online community of likeminded bloggers. As I no longer live in a major city, finding a group of likeminded individuals that is easily accessible would be impossible without my blogging community.
Who is the ideal blog follower? I honestly don't know...
I don't know what the funniest comment on the blogs has been, but your comment on my "Dog Fart Award" post had me chuckling. :)
Hi, Laurel! I love reading your crafty posts and the ones about freezer meals, planning etc. I love your blog, even if it's an oldie. ;) ;) Thanks for linking up!!
I loved that you picked Martha- wouldn't we all love that, unless she was hypercritical (I feel like she might be). I like your simple, useful kid ideas- not that I have kids but a lot of my friends are starting to and I'm a teacher so there are a lot of kids in my life. I've also tried some of your great recipes.
Hi Laurel!
I just love your blog. I love everything you post about. You are so creative. Everything you do is wonderful.
XOOX

I love when you share your sewing skills. They are great references for this newbie. I also LOVE any organizational tip. Great blog!
Hi Laurel (pretty name!)...thanks for stopping by nad saying hi this morning. It is nice ?meeting" you. Amanda's party has been fun getting to neet other bloggers.
I just read your post about stay at home moms. You're right. I can't think of any tv moms who stay home that aren't portrayed as frazzled and unhappy. Hhhmmm...
I have been able to be an at-home mom since my second child was born. I can't say that I haven't had days where I thought it would be easier to have an office to escape to but, like you, I am glad I chose to do this and ultimately, even on crazy days, I am so glad to be here with my children as much as possible.
I am anxious to look around your blog some more, especially the Grateful Sundays, I think I may become your newest follower :)
Jenn
wow...guess I should have looked over my comment before submitting it...sorry for the typos!

What a beautiful family you have and such a clever title! LOVE LOVE LoVE your planter boxes--does it keep the CRITTERS out. That is why gardens don't grow here in the Midwest--squirells--rabbits--need to eat "fast food" too!
Serenity Now party gatherer!
Your blog may be an oldie, but it's definitely a goodie. I SO wish I could have my ducks in a row. That pretty much never happens for me.
I like posts like the one you just wrote about being a stay-at-home mom. I'm like you--I always wanted to be at home to rear my kids. There have been lots of sacrifices, yes, but I wouldn't trade my time at home for all the world.
I'm just dropping in from the party! I love your blog and the title. Super cute. Thanks for stopping by Not So Crafty and leaving some comment love
What cute lil ducky pictures. It is so much fun meeting other blog people! I am going to have to snoop around your blog a bit! Have a great weekend!
Thanks so much for stopping by my place at Yellow Shoe Day and for the compliments! I love finding new folks! I took a quick look at your site here and can't wait to explore a little more later. I too love organizing, rearranging, and making things pretty so I can't wait to read some of your older posts. See you soon.
I am glad to meet you. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love your blog, and feel like you are a kindred spirit. Thank you for your post about being a stay at home mother. Diddo to all that.
Andrea

I love the variety of your blog; however, I can do without anything Martha Stewart, lol!
P.S. Maybe bz I'm very far from the Martha Stewart-type. Nothing personal laura or Martha!
