Ruffles and Ruffles

I'm so glad that I have girls that I can make ruffles for. I love making ruffles. This is the Can-Can Skirt from Dana.

I bought nylon chiffon, which doesn't fray and it made everything so much better. I. picked out the blue and when I first saw it, I thought of my Alma matter, which isn't exactly the look I wanted for this skirt! I used black and cream to soften how blue that blue was.

I also made one for little M., but getting her to agree to do something her Mommy would like is another story.

I think this would be a darling spring skirt, with ruffly pastels.

Oh I love that skirt! Love the blue paired with creams and blacks, sophisticated yet unexpected.

And I think your little one and I would get along. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the "rebels" - something about being the youngest child, I'm sure.

That skirt is awesome! I would wear one myself, but I realllllly love it for my daughter. When I saw you reference the colors and your alma mater, I was briefly hopeful I'd found another Blue Devil!

So glad you're back with a healthy computer. You were missed.

So cute! I really need to do some ruffling. It doesn't look that hard...but like anything new, very intimidating! And yes, thank goodness you have a girl! Praying that I won't end up with just boys...I don't think they could pull off ruffles as well...though I may try! ;)

That is so cute! I am going to feature it on my blog! That is JUST as cute as a petti skirt, but so much easier!

Hi Laurel-
Cute cute cute skirt. My youngest daughter would have loved that when she was little. She would only wear skirts with what she called "swirl factor" which your skirt has. I am going to forward the link to her. I know seeing it is going make her smile.

The ruffles look so yummy. Like a wonderful base for a pillow and then pop a giant flower on it as well.

THAT is adorable! I don't think my oldest would go for it but my youngest girl would be all over that - so sweet! (Heck, maybe I'll just STUFF Evie in it! Thanks for the pattern link!)

I love this! I just sent it to my sister who does all the sewing. She has a baby almost 1 so it would be so cute for her birthday outfit!
