My poor husband . . . we've been busy. If he wasn't so handy and particular around the house, he might have a break. We've put a lot of time and effort into our home and here are some of my favorites:

My Master Room - still have a long ways to go on this, but so far this room has received a coat of paint, new bedding, new drapes, and my pretty little desk.

Our Backyard - this is so big that I don't even know if the word project is accurate - I've noticed that everyone looks at us like we are crazy when they come over. Maybe we are . . this is a huge project with a finish date of summer 2011. We've been working on it almost every Saturday from May through October. We leveled the yard, which included taking out approximately 120 cubic yards of dirt, built a retaining wall, built in our trampoline; we now have a beautiful 2 tiered paved patio, we've planted 7 trees, 8 shrubs, a flower garden, built a vegetable garden, and that doesn't even include all the time consuming little things - carrying bricks from the driveway to the backyard, digging sprinkler trenches . . . and on and on.

The Girls Room - painted, put up beadboard, chair rail and crown molding, and sewed new bedding for both girls.

The Family Room Drapes - love the difference!
Our Mud Room - the cubbies in our garage are a life saver. We have hooks on the wall for coats and backpacks and some mats for the floor. Someone commented to me the other day on how my garage looks so organized. I just laughed - behind our other door is all the tools we are using for our backyard, with no order whatsoever!.JPG)
The drapes in the Dining Room - this took about a year to just pick out the fabric.
I'm excited for 2010, no time to rest. My in-laws will be here Tuesday and are anxious to start a project for me. What a perfect way to start off the year.

What a blessing! To have a lovely home, to be able to decorate it so nicely, to be able to know that in another year Lord willing you will be finishing up a project in your backyard! I am rejoicing with you!
Wow! Love it all. Happy new year! :)
I love seeing your projects! The girly room is adorable!!! What paint did you use? My daughter begs for a pink room and I never do it because I don't know what paint to use! But I like your lighter color choice.
You HAVE been busy! Your backyard is to die for - even if it takes forever to finish you are so lucky to have so much space! I think of you almost every day (is that weird..not in a weird way) but I LOVE that sweet little pillow I won from you! It just makes me smile!
Happy New Year to you and your family! Looking forward to seeing what your next project is!
Lovely! I love the drapes you got from Target...now I need to go and look for some. I love your cubbies in the mudroom too!
Amazing! I'm new enough to your blog that I hadn't seen all of this. I'm loving it! That patio is incredible and I'm so drooling over that!

Your home projects are truly a labor of love.
I hope you can enjoy a little R&R over the winter break. Although it is the perfect time for the indoor projects. Either way you'll have great results. I'm looking forward to seeing whats yet to be availed.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
P.S. I love the hooks in your car! It would be a great way to organize our market totes. I sure wished we had access to them here. Isn't it funny how something so simple can be such a great help.
Sweet wishes,

I'm so impressed by all your projects last year, but that backyard continues to blow me away. It is going to be amazing when it's all finished!
Your girl's room is so pretty! That bedding looks like it could be right out of the PB catalog. Good for you to take the time to make your own.

Okay, if this appears twice, I apologize ...computer glitch) Laurel, everything is wonderful, but I especially love the girls' room and bedding and the living room drapes.
Look at you ~ diving full into 2010 projects already! You did quite a bit and I'm sure that backyard project is quite a lot of work.
Laurel, what a fantastic back yard project! Thanks for stopping by.

That white desk is lovely!
I am way impressed! That looks like much more than a year's worth of work. My favorites are the hanging ornaments over the crib and the drapes in the living room. Here's to 2010!
I love the plates you have hanging on the wall. Do you remember where you bought them. Would love to do something like that.
